Greetings from Glendale, Ariz.; site of Super Bowl XLII!
Wednesday, January 30th, 2008Segway PTs will be ubiquitous here as the different public service agencies do their part to keep fans safe during Super Bowl week. The Glendale Fire Department has added six Segway PTs to their fleet of eight for Super Bowl week. The Glendale Police Department are patrolling on 8 more. University of Phoenix Stadium security has been making the rounds on their two units, and security guards at Westgate Plaza continue to patrol their stores on the Segway PTs they own. Medical Sports Group, which provides medical services to the NFL, has also rented a few units from Segway of Scottsdale to get around the complex during the week.

On Friday, the Segway PTs were displayed alongside helicopters, perimeter scanners, emergency chemical and medical lab vehicles and the like when the various organizations invited the press to see the specialized equipment to be used. Some pretty amazing technology, and we’re proud to be a part of it!
