Segway New Zealand was founded by technology entrepreneur Philip Bendall in 2003. Today, we're the longest continually-established International Distributor of Segway products in the world.

We are New Zealand’s original micro-mobility champion, and have launched pioneering products at every significant stage in this rapidly evolving field. It all began with the legendary self-balancing Segway Personal Transporter (PT) at the turn of the century. On a per-capity basis the Segway PT was more popular in New Zealand than just about anywhere other from USA and Germany. Segway PTs were widely seen in promotions and experienced at events. Segway Tours were established at more than a dozen locations around the country. Segway PTs became an important mobility device for many Kiwis. Philip was Captain of the NZ Pole Blacks from 2005 to 2008, twice leading his Segway Polo team at the World Cup against Silicon Valley's Aftershocks (lead by Apple co-founder Steve 'Woz' Wozniak).

During our second decade we popularised e-Scooters in New Zealand. From 2016 Segway-Ninebot KickScooters quickly became and remains the market leader. Ninebot miniPro PTs, Electric Unicycles, Go-karts, e-Skates, and electric Dirt eBikes followed.

We played a key role assisting the development of Omeo self-balancing PowerChairs that incorporate Segway PTs. This home-grown mobiliy marvel is exported to Australia, UK, USA and Canada.

Our third decade in business began with introducing Segway Navimow robot lawn mowers into New Zealand. We contributed to Southern Hemisphere testing during early development from 2020, and launched Navimow locally in early-2024. Today we offer a full range of award-winning Navimow mowers, from small domestic options to commercial models.
