ES4 KickScooter joins Ninebot by Segway ES2 for 2019 - here's our full line of products

New Zealand's best-selling electric KickScooter for 2018 - the Segway by Ninebot ES2 - is joined by the ES4 model at selected retailers, our Dealers and direct from Segway New Zealand (call 0800 2 SEGWAY or email segwaynz@icloud.com). The ES4 model comes with the Extra Battery pack that is available as an optional extra for the ES2. The presence of the pack is automatically detected by the KickScooter, and provides an increase in range and speed (this is particularly useful on hillier routes). Apart from shipping with the Extra Battery pack installed, the ES4 is identical to the ES2. FullLine2019.jpg The mini-Series has been refreshed, with the miniPRO renamed S-PRO and miniPLUS renamed S-PLUS. The miniLITE is great for kids and is still available. Important notes about products not imported or supported by Segway New Zealand
  • Ninebot by Segway KickScooter ES1 is a 250 watt model, with fewer safety features and lower performance compared with ES2 (300 watt model) and ES4, making it less suitable for New Zealand conditions.
  • Ninebot by Segway ES2 and ES4 units imported by grey market/parallel importers/private individuals, and units sold by on-line or other sellers who did not purchase their stock from Segway New Zealand are not supported under warranty by Segway New Zealand or our Dealers/Retailers.
  • Ninebot by Segway miniPRO (260 version) is marketed in USA as the ‘2018 Edition’ and has a smaller 260 Watt-hour battery pack and reduced performance. It is otherwise identical to the Segway miniPRO (320 version). The more powerful miniPRO with 320 Watt-hour battery pack provides extended range, faster speed and improved performance-under-load, and increased rider safety under New Zealand conditions.
  • Ninebot by Segway Gokart requires a miniPRO to provide the power and rear wheels. Simply remove the miniPRO's knee-steer and fit it into the rear of the Gokart in just a few minutes. If you already own a miniPRO buy the Gokart as a single item. If not, buy the Gokart+miniPRO bundle.
  • Segway-Ninebot ONE A1 and ONE S1 are lower-spec’d versions of the ONE S2 model (they have lower top speed, shorter range, etc). The ONE S1 is sold only in North America, while the ONE A1 is sold in some Asian territories alongside the ONE S2.
  • Ninebot PRT E+ does not have UL2272 electrical safety certification, nor redundant sub-systems, leaving it unsuitable for mobility use or commercial deployments in New Zealand. Segway NZ has never imported or sold this model, and does not sell spare parts, except for replacement battery packs.
  • Ninebot mini (a discontinued model sometimes sold in NZ by on-line sellers who have imported some units, or by private individuals) does not have UL2272 electrical safety certification. Segway NZ has never imported or sold this model, and does not sell spare parts, except for replacement battery packs (320 Watt-hour only).
  • Segway SE-3 Patroller is available by special order, for deployment in selected Public Safety roles in New Zealand.
A warning about buying products not imported by Segway New Zealand: We urge buyers to be aware that after-sales parts and service from online sellers who do not source their stock from Segway New Zealand may be limited or non-existent. New Zealand has an open border, and a limited trade in private/grey-market/parallel imports of consumer-orientated Segway-Ninebot products does occur (e.g. there are several "pop-up" sellers of Ninebot by Segway KickScooters on TradeMe at present). To illustrate the risks, take this example: In a response to a question about a China-sourced miniPLUS (Ninebot N4M340 model, not the Segway N4M350 model) offered on Trade Me (3 January 2019), a seller replied: "We provide one year manufacture warranty" - this means the item needs to be returned to China for repairs under warranty, which is simply not practical to do because the non-removable battery pack is classed 'Dangerous Goods' and cannnot be shipped by any kind of air courier out of New Zealand. They also replied: "We don’t sell any other accessories for it, and no parts stock right now" - this may become a problem for a buyer in the future because Segway New Zealand does not provide repairs under warranty, or support parts or service for the N4M340 model (it was built for sale in the Greater China region only, and not intended for export).
