One of the most innovative uses of the Segway Robot Mobility Platform (RMP) is Marathon Robotic's 'Rover' - a free-ranging robotic targeting system for live-fire training. This system provides challenging, realistic training for anti-terrorism, police and military forces.
Developed in Australia in conjunction with their Department of Defence and built on the RMP 200 platform, this 'best-in-the-world' system deploys a fleet of robots that can execute complex scenarios, move in and out of buildings, and go anywhere a human can. The robots are human-like in size, shape and speed, and lean forward when accelerating, back when slowing just like a running person.
