Stuff revealed today the New Zealand Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, has purchased a robot lawn mower in recent weeks.
He was inspired by seeing them in action in a sports stadium. According to the article, he said to his wife: "Honey, you know what we need for our very small backyard in central Auckland? A robotic lawnmower.” He's right, of course. Every lawn needs a robot mower (although we would say this, wouldn't we).
You can read the full article in Stuff right here. Luxon did not reveal the brand of mower he purchased for this ~250 square meter lawn at his Auckland residence, but Stuff's investigative journalist used the Gemini AI tool to do some deep and thorough research into this matter of state importance. We're pleased to say Segway Navimow was singled out in the news article the brand offering models top-rated by Consumer NZ for small lawns (i-series) and for large lawns (X-series).
Here's the relevant excerpt:
Luxon did not reveal which model of robotic lawnmower he bought, but a rudimentary Google search shows they range anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 (!).
The $10,000 option, the Navimow X3-Series Robot Mower from Segway, was rated the best robotic lawnmower for large lawns by Consumer.
As we have established, Luxon’s lawn is not large. So he may have been better suited to the Navimow i-Series Robot Mower from Segway - a $2,200 option that was awarded the best robot mower for small areas.
