Segway on Q in South Island's Top 20 things to do

New Zealand Guide rates Segway on Q as one of the 20 best things you can do when you visit the South Island.

Segway on Q has been a top-rated attraction in Queenstown for two decades. Founder Kevin Hey began with five first generation PTs (with fixed handlebars and a twist-grip for turning). Segway GT golf kits enabled several of the fleet to be used to play a round at Frankton.

Over time the fleet moved to 'Gen 2' Segway PTs with LeanSteer, then to the latest 'SE' model.

Recently, Kevin added three more brand new Segway i2 SE machines to his fleet (there were some of the last brand new units available anywhere in the world).

New Zealand Guide has this to say taking a tour with Segway on Q:

See Queenstown from a fresh perspective with Segway on Q, a fun and quirky way to explore the adventure capital. These self-balancing, eco-friendly machines offer a hands-on sightseeing experience that’s unlike cycling or e-biking.

The review adds:

Tours weave through some of Queenstown’s most scenic spots, including the beautiful Queenstown Gardens, lakefront pathways and lookout points with incredible views of The Remarkables. Along the way, your guide shares stories and local insights that bring the landscape to life.

The writer closes with the perfect observation about taking a tour on a Segway PT:

Playful, easy to learn and surprisingly addictive, Segway on Q adds a whole new level of fun to Queenstown sightseeing.
